Excel as BI tool in business

Working in strict environments such as Financial Institution, Insurance broker, government etc., we often find that there is no access to third party tools, which we can use for data analysis due security reason. At the same time, there is well known data representation tool – MS Excel. Want a report immediately? Manager has now idea how to run Power BI? Lost in Tableau’s controls? No problem – MS Excel is your friend. Building my own Excel VBA framework to extract and represent data from any database into Excel. Flexible functionality can be extended when required.

While visiting great online classes provided by Brent Ozar and enjoying his sp_Blitz script pack, I have found some stuff can be optimized. Instead of telling you hundred times what MS Excel + (any) Server can do, better watch my first one minute video.

Where do you think this way of reporting could be convenient to standard monster reports? Are you interesting to see other examples like this?
